I have no idea what this comment has to do with the post, but suffice it to say that it doesn't seem to me that you are advocating freedom but are advocating oppression.
The federal hate crimes statute only applies to conduct, not speech or ideas. And, it is a basic human right, not a special right, to be protected from violent conduct directed at you solely because of who you are (black, white, female, male, gay or straight) or because of what you believe (Christian, Muslim, atheist).
It is past time for the hate crimes statute to be amended to protect people who are victims of violent conduct because of their sexual orientation.
